Lilypie 1st Birthday Ticker

So now we know we had it easy with Neve- Soleil is very colicky. We are exhausted . She cries non-stop. It must be her tummy because when we put her down in her crib she cries non stop. When we hold her she stops. Any advice? I left a message with my doctor to see if I can give her anti-gas drops. Now we are totally zombie-like.

Have you tried propping her up so that she doesn't lay flat on her back? That helps with gas. From what I remember I was told not to lay the baby down for about a half hour after feeding, she needed to be upright and then if there still was a problem, to prop her up so she wasn't laying flat. On my niece too they would bring her legs up to her chin and then she would release a big fart. It never worked for Kaylee though. LOL! And if those things don't work, more burbing during the feed, which I know gets a bit annoying but if it stops her from crying I guess it's worth it.

Oh hon, I feel for you! Lila was the same way, and sometime I felt like chucking her right out the window (I said FELT LIKE..not that I actually considered it). We tried everything...doing the bicycle movement with her legs to work out the gas, pressing on her belly, bringing her legs up and down. Man, those aren't the best memories, lol. That is actually partially why I was a co-sleeper for almost a year...it's the only way I got any sleep.

I'm so sorry. My Matthew also has colic but it's finally getting better so hang in there. There are things that help a little and most babies grow out of it by 3 or 4 months. You can try formula that is specifically formulated for colic, the gas drops or in our case we put Matthew on Zantac for GERD (reflex) and that helped a lot when nothing else did. They really don't know what causes Colic but most think it has something to do w/ an immature digestive system so one of the above could help.

Our twins will be 3 months tomorrow and it has gotten so much better. More manageable for sure. Those first two months were tough.

Usually the gas drops are fine. Other things are maybe a warm blanket or something warm on her belly. Hope her tummy feels better soon.

First of all...congrats on having both of your baby girls home...what a Christmas blessing!! I know you must feel SO much better having them both there. BUT...I also know what you are going through and it's hard.
As for the crying; gas drops and a change in formula helped a little for us. We were fortunate that neither of ours had colic but they were (and still are) fussy babies. I noticed in the pics that you have positioners but couldn't tell if you had them on a wedge. I highly recommend the wedge...we had one from the time we brought them home. Can't say for sure if that helped keep the crying down but it may have been part of it.

Chripractor. Trust me they work wonders. Also milicon drops, and maybe get a formula for colicky babies.

Everyone will have all sorts of advice on what to do. The truth is....babies have to adjust. It's hard and they don't come with manuals. Doctors will prescribe and describe several things to try but really they are just trying to make you feel better.
Love her, hold her, this is just a phase of many and this too shall pass.

Good luck !
