Advice

You know what I hate about telling family overseas that I am coming to visit? The insane amount of requests I get.

"Can you look into the price of an MP4? It has to be a 4g or 5g... and preferably in black. Let me know the price and I will let you know if I want it"

"I need 2 sets of mot.orolla walkie- talkies that will work with our old walk- talkies. Can you make sure that they will work together on the same frequency..."

Umm.. seriously people. I am on vacation. Why the hell do you think its appropriate to always ask for things prior to my arrival? This means I have to look into these things, buy them with money that I don't have, and bring them overseas and hope not to be taxed at the airport. I have already let them know that if the electronics that they have us buying don't work- it is not me who will be returning it.

I used to buy some many gifts for relatives when I would visit. No one is getting diddly this time around.

Sorry, I have two babies- I don't have money to buy you guys anything. You should be buying ME gifts. The only person that I am buying a gift for is for our amazing hosts- my husband's aunt and uncle. They are letting us stay on the bottom floor of their house which they usually rent out. His aunt is amazing. She really is like the mother I never had. And to top it all off- she is the BEST COOK EVER. So exciting. I know we will be well taken care of.

So my dilemma is:

I already purchased a beautiful gift set for his aunt (she loves victoria s.ecret body fragrances) and since they don't have them there, I went yesterday and bought her a bunch.

But I think i need to buy his uncle something as well, and maybe even their daughters who live at home ages : 20, 18, 11

Do you guys think I should buy them something? If so- what?! I need help ASAP.

Here are some more pics from last night:

You think the onesie is too small on Neve?

Please mommy- no more kisses!
Yes that is tomato sauce on my chin. And no, my husband did not tell me.:

I think she's working that outfit girl :) Time to move up a size aye ? ha ha

I think you are AWESOME for buying your aunt those gifts. Such a thoughtful gesture. I would probably buy something for the uncle and cousins but I am at a loss for what it would be.
I will try and think of something cheap and easy !

I think I'd buy something for the aunt and uncle, but I'd probably skip their kids. The aunt and uncle are the ones hosting, so they're the ones that deserve the thank you gifts.

Ok, so I'm still laughing - out loud - at you having to suss out walkie talkie frequencies. And Soliels onesie. And tomato sauce on your chin. Ahem!

I would buy the uncle something uncley .... and for their kids, why don't you just get $20 worth of all different chocolates or something, so they can all share. I KNOW you Americans have the best chocolate bars.

SO great the auntie is a good cook .... how much better does ANY food taste when you don't have to cook it yourself!

are those gymboreeee onesies? if so I find them to be very skinny even though the length is good. too funny.

I'd say skip the kids too although the chocolate idea sounds good.

She's busting at the seams...love it!! And the tomato sauce is quite cute, too!! My husband would do the same thing just to have record of it :)
As for the gifts...I love giving even small gifts so I'd probably take a little something for each of them since they'll all be around and hopefully the kids will be helping you out with the girls, too (lots of helping hands, yay!). Maybe something little like a bottle of OPI nail polish (then they can all share)in fun colors (goes with the helping hands theme...see, my brain still works sometime!!)or a pair of cute flip flops???
As for the uncle...I am stumped. I am no good at men's gifts. But, I think food is always good! Got a good bakery near by?

Thanks so much for your kind words. We gave up on the pumping over Easter. My OB/GYN wanted to put me on the pill to regulate my period (since the post partum bleeding never stopped...and let me just tell you how wonderful it is to blled for 6 months....) and it was not recommended to breastfeed while on the pill. I think maybe they are going through a growth spurt or something. Some days are better than others. Some nights they sleep through and others, it is every two hours. I just wish my family lived closer....
