So I too, like TopCat, have joined:
National Blogging month- meaning I have to blog everyday this month. Not sure if that will happen- but I will try. I don't know if I will have topics for each new day.
Please, don't hesitate to ask me questions- if you have any or topics for me to write about.
OK kids- Today I will tell you a story about a blind date that ended up with the theft of my purse. Yes- because I was a wild child. Not really...
Ok, I had just turned 21. A friend of mine (more like an acquaintance) said that he had a great friend to set me up with. I was usually not a blind date kind of girl, but I figured why not give it a shot? His friend (whose name I don't quite remember) called me for about two weeks. We became phone friends and I was def digging his personality. He lived in a different city, but our plans were for him to pick me up on Thursday night, and for us to drive into the city (for you non-new yorkers- that means Manhattan).
He shows up.... and I am instantly not into him. He was NOT my type at all. It seems as though, I was his -and we proceeded to a nice bar/ lounge. Now, there was no way to get out of that situation. He came all the way to my city to pick me up- I was stuck with him for the rest of the night. I decided to make the best of it, and figures alcohol would make me less nauseated by him.
He went to the bar to get me a drink, while I went to the ladies room.
On the line to the restroom, the hottest guy hit on me. I was in awe of his hotness, and that he was into me was even better. But alas, I was on a "date" with Ducky from pretty in Pink.
As I sat back down with my date, I decided that I needed more alcohol to make the time pass by quicker. I proceeded to tell him that I was going to the bar to get us some drinks. At the bar, I was already pretty sloshed. Mr. hottie himself finds me, and starts hitting on me. He ended up buying me a drink and we proceed to talk. Now mind you, I completely forgot about ducky. Poor Ducky.
I ended up getting soooooo plastered, I ended up making out with Mr. Hottie for an hour outside the bar. People screaming"get a room"! This my friends, was not like me AT ALL! I never randomly hooked up with a guy before. It wasn't my "style". Once I remembered that I was on a "date"- I ran to where we sat, but he was gone. But absent was my purse as well- with my money, cell phone, keys.... Yeah, he took them.
What I assume happened, was that he searched for me, saw me making out with a gorgeous man and to get back at me, stole my purse.
I was in quite the predicament. I was drunk, an hour from home, with no money, keys, cell phone at 2am. I told Hottie what happened and he said not to worry- that he was paying for my cab ride home. He took the cab ride with me and then proceeded home- but he did pay. He took my phone number as well- but I was sure I would never hear from him again. Turns out he called me the next day and we went out on a date the following night.
Anyway, I tried contacting Ducky, but he never answered. My friend who set us up was not interested in talking to me either- needless to say we haven't spoken since. So I left my date a very threatening voicemail that if he didn't return my purse, I would have to press charges. 2 weeks later, I got a package in the mail with my purse- of course there was a note.
The note read : "I found your purse in a bar. I only took out enough money to send the package- other than that, everything else should be in place"
Umm, I'm sure this was "anonymous"- even though it was postmarked from the same city Ducky lived in.
I did eventually apologize to him though. I knew where he worked (popular restaurant) and went there with friends a few months later. I saw him, went over and apologized for my actions. I lied and said Mr. Hottie was an ex boyfriend.
So what happened with Mr. Hottie you ask?
Well, we did go out on a few more dates. He expected me to sleep with him which I didn't do. Then he just stopped calling me. You see- I'm not a slu*t after all!
I leave you with the cutest pictures of my girls (quite the segue)- The first few pics is my attempt to feed them solids. The girls are not into it (Dont let Soleil's smile fool you!) They are baffled by the concept. Then we had my cousin's baby's circumcision on Sunday so I decided to finally put the girls in dresses- they were adorable!
BTW- This last picture is of their cribs, with the letters that I painted for them. I def feel like it adds a lot to the room:

LOVE the pictures....they TOTALLY make you look nice and not like a bitch or slut at all ;)
Maya, they are SO CUTE! I love their names above the crib, such a great idea and it looks amazing!
I love the dresses :-) the names on the wall look great too!
Hahaha! I've never been on a blind date, and I'd say dates like that are how blind dates get a bad name. Poor Ducky! :)
I do have a question for you since you're asking....
I know you've lived in Israel, and I know you live in NYC now. I also know your parents live there, and you and your husband both have family in Israel. I also remember something about you going to school in the U.S....right? So, I've always wanted to know...what's the time line of where you've lived in your life? Which place were you born? Which years did you spend in the U.S. and which in Israel??
My goodness. Reading your post made me realise what I sl*t I was! (Because it all comes back to being about me ;)
Glad you got your purse back. Looks like you ended up with a Mr Hottie after all ...
Yay for blogging every day! Try and keep it up - you win prizes if they randomly select you!
xoxo
You guys are entirely too cute! Look at those little ladies in their dresses - precious!
Oh, and I totally love it that he gave the purse back. Gotta love it.
Your stories are funny. Thank god you got your purse back!
I love the girls names on the wall. They're so pretty and girly.
The girls look so adorable in their dresses.
I have a question for you. Do you always smile with your mouth closed? Any particular reason? Don't get me wrong you look beautiful the way you smile but I was curious.
I've never been on a blind date, either, so I lived vicariously through you for a moment there!
I love the lettering, did you free-hand that?? They are so adorable. Just wait, they'll get the hang of baby food soon! We are now in the fun stage of experimenting with all the different flavors...makes for lots of cute faces!
